Greenville police chief urges parents to monitor children
Greenville Police Chief Marcus R. Turner Sr. urged parents to monitor their children’s whereabouts and activities, particularly during late-night and early-morning hours.
In a message to parents, Turner said some young people are breaking into vehicles, homes and businesses. He warned that the crimes carry legal consequences and could lead to dangerous encounters.
Turner encouraged parents to set boundaries, hold children accountable and talk with them about respecting other people’s lives and property. He said parental guidance and supervision could help young people make safer choices.
