Greenville partners with church for drive-thru storm relief giveaway
The City of Greenville is partnering with Reverend Linda Lane of St. Matthew AME Church to host a drive-thru community giveaway in response to the effects of Winter Storm Fern, according to city officials.
The event will take place Friday at 12:30 p.m. in front of Greenville City Hall and will continue while supplies last, city spokespersons said. Residents are invited to drive through and receive essential items such as water, juice, hygiene supplies, and nonperishable food.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons stated that the partnership underscores the city’s commitment to supporting residents during emergencies. He expressed gratitude to Rev. Dr. Linda Lane and St. Matthew AME Church for collaborating with the city to aid the Mississippi Delta community after the storm.
The giveaway is designed to provide quick and convenient access to supplies for individuals and families affected by Winter Storm Fern. No registration is required, and supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents are advised to arrive early and remain in their vehicles throughout the event.
