Greenville Municipal Court Offers Amnesty Period for Misdemeanor Cases
The Greenville Municipal Court has announced an amnesty period from March 1 to May 1, 2026, aimed at helping residents resolve unresolved misdemeanor warrants, failure to appear charges, unpaid citations, or failure to report to work centers.
During this time, individuals can voluntarily address their cases, avoid additional penalties, prevent further prosecution, and work out payment arrangements. The initiative is intended to give residents a chance to move forward with peace of mind, according to a statement from Mayor Errick D. Simmons.
“Unresolved warrants can impact your job, your license, and your future. We do not want our residents living in fear when there is a path to resolution. This is about second chances,” Simmons said. He encouraged residents to contact the Greenville Municipal Court at 662-378-1530 if they are unsure about their eligibility.
The city emphasized the importance of taking action during this period to resolve cases and move forward. The amnesty runs until May 1, 2026, and residents are encouraged to seize the opportunity.
