Greenville Mayor’s Youth Council kicks off 2026 with first meeting
Greenville’s Mayor’s Youth Council, the largest in Mississippi and the inaugural winner of the Mississippi Municipal League Youth Award, held its first meeting of 2026 on Monday.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons expressed pride in the young leaders, saying, “These young leaders are ready to serve, lead, learn, and make a difference in Greenville. Through leadership development, civic engagement, and community service, we are giving our youth a seat at the table and preparing the next generation to lead.”
The mayor also emphasized the importance of investing in youth to strengthen the city’s future. He congratulated the council members as they begin another year of youth leadership, service, and impact.
The Greenville Mayor’s Youth Council has received recognition for its efforts and continues to foster youth involvement in city governance and community development.
