Greenville Hosts Community Event to Raise Colorectal Cancer Awareness
The City of Greenville’s Mayor’s Health Council will hold a community health event on March 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greenville City Hall, according to city officials.
The event aims to provide health resources, blood pressure checks, and information about colorectal cancer prevention. A guest speaker will also address attendees. The event is free and open to the public.
In addition, Greenville City Hall will be illuminated in blue at 8 p.m. to mark National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, city officials said. The city is located at 340 Main St.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the importance of early detection. “Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common and fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S., according to the CDC. However, it is also one of the most preventable cancers,” he said. “Events like this help raise awareness, promote prevention, and support community health.”
