Greenville home named Yard of the Month for its historic Tudor architecture
A Greenville home has been named Yard of the Month for its historic Tudor architecture and well-maintained landscape, according to the Greenville-Washington County Mississippi Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Constructed around 1929 by the Virden family, the two-story residence features a red brick façade, steeply pitched slate roof, and stone detailing reminiscent of an English country manor, the bureau said.
Its proportioned windows, sculpted stone entryway, and stately rooflines convey a sense of quiet nobility. Mature trees and manicured hedges frame the home, emphasizing its presence and craftsmanship.
The residence also includes a sheltered arched loggia, classical stone columns, and a natural flagstone terrace, creating an atmosphere suited for gatherings and leisurely afternoons beneath the Southern sky.
Described as more than just a Tudor residence, the home is considered an architectural heirloom that embodies Greenville’s rich heritage and Southern elegance. It reflects a legacy of craftsmanship and timeless appeal, the bureau said.
