Greenville highlights Black History Month with ongoing fact series

The city of Greenville is continuing its Black History Month celebration with a series of facts highlighting influential leaders, trailblazers, and key moments that have shaped history locally and globally.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the importance of recognizing Black history, stating, “Black history is American history. Black history is world history. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”

Throughout the month, Greenville residents are encouraged to learn, reflect, and honor the legacy of Black achievement and resilience. The city aims to foster awareness and appreciation of Black contributions to society.

The Black History Month series is part of Greenville’s ongoing efforts to celebrate diversity and promote community engagement. Local officials and community members are invited to participate in events and educational activities scheduled throughout February.
