Greenville event to offer fire safety information and smoke detectors

Former Fire Chief Ruben Brown Sr. will lead a fire safety event Nov. 4 at the Buster Brown Center in Greenville, Mississippi.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 400 E. Robertshaw St. Brown will discuss home fire prevention, smoke alarms, escape planning and carbon monoxide safety. Lunch will be provided.

Free smoke detectors will be available in limited quantities. Attendees also can enter a drawing for a carbon monoxide detector. The Greenville Park Commission and the Mayor’s Health Council are supporting the event.
