Greenville Continues Black History Month Celebration with Highlighted Leaders and Moments
The city of Greenville is celebrating Black History Month through a series of facts highlighting influential leaders, trailblazers, and key moments that have shaped national and local history, according to a post from the city government.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons emphasized the importance of recognizing Black history, stating, “Black history is American history. Black history is world history. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”
The city is encouraging residents to participate in the month-long observance to learn about and honor Black achievements, resilience, and legacy. The campaign includes social media posts with hashtags such as #BlackHistoryMonth, #GreenvilleMS, and #CelebrateAndLearn.
Greenville officials continue to promote awareness and education about Black history throughout February, aiming to foster community pride and understanding.
