Greenville announces Blues Week events for 49th Mississippi Delta Blues Festival

Greenville Mayor Errick D. Simmons announced a series of Blues Week events leading up to the 49th Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival.

The events include Blues In The Schools programs at several local elementary and high schools. On Monday, Sept. 14, performances will be held at Weddington Elementary and TL Western Middle School.

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, Blues In The Schools will take place at Triggs Elementary and Greenville High School. The city also shared flyers for additional activities scheduled from Wednesday through Sunday, though details were not provided in the announcement.

Simmons encouraged community participation in the celebrations, which highlight the region’s rich blues heritage, according to a city statement.
