Flame of Hope to pass through Tunica during Law Enforcement Torch Run on May 4, 2026

The ‘Flame of Hope’ will travel through Tunica on Monday, May 4, 2026, as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run supporting Special Olympics Mississippi.

The run will begin at the sheriff’s office downtown and end at Tunica Veteran Park. The community is invited to join the run or line the route to watch the procession, which starts at 11:00 a.m., according to organizers.

Law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes carry the flame into the opening ceremonies of local competitions, as well as into state, provincial, national, regional, and world games. Annually, more than 97,000 law enforcement members worldwide carry the torch, symbolizing courage and unity across diverse communities, organizers said.
