FEMA offers aid to Mississippi storm victims in 36 counties
Mississippi residents in 36 counties impacted by winter storms from January 23 to 27 may be eligible for FEMA Individual Assistance, according to the agency.
Eligible individuals can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by phone at 800-621-FEMA (3362), or through the free FEMA app, officials said.
Basic eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship or qualified status, identity verification through a Social Security number or accepted documents, proof of home ownership or occupancy, and unmet needs not covered by insurance, FEMA reported.
Residents whose homes or property were affected are encouraged to apply promptly to access available support, FEMA advised.
