Delta-native filmmaker screens debut film in Greenville
A Delta-native filmmaker is returning home for a special screening of her debut film. Dabney Day, a Mississippi Delta resident, will showcase her movie, “The Gardener,” at UEC Theater in Greenville on May 20.
The film, which has garnered attention beyond the South, features heartfelt storytelling, striking cinematography, and themes of hope, healing, and connection. It highlights the local roots that shaped the story, according to organizers.
The screening offers the community an opportunity to celebrate Day’s achievement and see a story rooted in the Delta on the big screen. The event begins at 5 p.m., and tickets are available through the theater’s website.
Organizers encourage residents to bring friends, share the event, and support local talent. The screening aims to showcase the unique voice of a Delta storyteller and foster community pride.
