Deer season starts in 45 days in Mississippi

Mississippi hunters have 45 days until deer season begins on Nov. 21, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

The department recommends hunters sight in their firearms before the season opens. To assist with preparation, MDWFP offers three shooting facilities: McIvor Shooting Facility in Sardis, Turcotte Shooting Facility in Canton, and McHenry Shooting Facility in Perkinston.

Hunters are encouraged to visit the department’s website for more information about the shooting facilities and preparation tips. The department’s social media pages also provide updates on outdoor activities and regulations.
