Cleveland man charged after shooting at Sonic restaurant
CLEVELAND — Cleveland police responded to a report of gunfire at a Sonic restaurant around 4 p.m. Tuesday. Officers arrived within minutes and took a suspect into custody.
The suspect was identified as JW Edwards Dye Jr., 25. He faces seven counts of aggravated assault, discharging a weapon within city limits, and carrying a concealed firearm, according to police.
Dye is being held at Bolivar County Correctional Facility pending an initial court hearing. Both the suspect and the victim are employees of Sonic. Authorities said no injuries resulted from the shooting. The case remains under investigation, said Cleveland Police Chief Dudley Tribble.
