Boat access limited at two Mississippi state parks during July 3-4 celebrations
Boat access at Paul B. Johnson State Park will be temporarily closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 3, due to scheduled water activities and holiday events, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
At Percy Quin State Park, boat access will be limited throughout July 3 and July 4. Only overnight guests will be permitted lake access, and they must coordinate with park staff for designated launch and retrieval times, officials said.
The closures apply only to boat access. Visitors can still access the lakes for bank fishing during the restriction periods, officials added.
