WCEA will not host Mardi Gras Parade and Block Party in 2026

The West Carroll Educational Association (WCEA) announced it will not host its annual Mardi Gras Parade and Block Party in 2026. The organization cited conflicting community events, weather concerns, and logistical issues as reasons for the decision, according to a statement from WCEA.

The group noted that misinformation has been circulating about the event dates for 2024 and 2025, but clarified that no parade or block party is planned for 2026. WCEA also said it is exploring alternative dates and locations for a Mardi Gras celebration in 2027.

Organizers encouraged community members to share ideas or suggestions for future events, emphasizing their interest in engaging the community in planning efforts.
