Tunica County Sheriff’s Office seeks help identifying person behind dog shooting

The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying those responsible for a shooting incident involving a dog. The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m. at a residence near Walnut Lake Road.

The dog, named Major by its owner, Michael, was shot at the residence. A witness reported seeing a white pickup truck in the area around the time of the shooting, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office at 662-363-1411 or CrimeStoppers at 662-910-0400.
