Tunica County Sheriff’s Office Celebrates Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office is observing National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week to honor the dispatchers who serve as the first point of contact in emergencies.

Sheriff’s office officials say dispatchers provide critical information, give lifesaving instructions, and support deputies and first responders while remaining at their stations. Their work often goes unnoticed, but it is essential to public safety, officials added.

The department expressed appreciation for the dispatchers’ dedication and commitment. A special thank you was extended to ADSI for providing backpacks that recognized dispatchers as “the first first responders.”

Officials emphasized the importance of these professionals in maintaining effective emergency response and ensuring the safety of the community and responders alike.
