Tunica County Launches Adopt-A-Road Program for Litter Control
The Tunica County Road Department has launched a new Adopt-A-Road program aimed at controlling litter along county roadways, according to a department official.
Participants are asked to adopt at least one mile of roadway in the unincorporated areas of Tunica County for litter cleanup. The program includes an application process, agreement, and safety procedures, which are attached to the department’s announcement.
Once a request is submitted and approved by the Tunica County Board of Supervisors, the department will order a sign to be posted along the designated roadway. Volunteers will receive supplies such as litter grabbers, trash bags, and safety vests from the county’s Solid Waste Department.
For more information or to request to adopt a road, interested groups can call 662-363-1294, ext. 1702, or visit the county’s website at www.tunicacountymississippi.com, the department said.
