Tornado Watch Issued for Multiple States in Mississippi Valley

The National Weather Service has issued Tornado Watch 55, effective until 11 p.m. CDT Monday, for areas in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, according to a statement from the agency.

The watch includes two counties in southeast Arkansas, Ashley and Chicot; three parishes in northeast Louisiana — East Carroll, Morehouse, and West Carroll; and 17 counties in central, north-central, northwest, and west-central Mississippi. Cities within the affected areas include Cleveland, Greenwood, Greenville, Starkville, West Point, and Yazoo City, among others.

The agency warns that the potential for severe weather, including tornadoes, remains possible. The watch covers a broad region, emphasizing the need for residents to stay alert and monitor weather updates.
