The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle burglary at a casino parking lot in Robinsonville, Mississippi, on Friday, March 27, 2026, at around 9:14 p.m., authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene and spoke with witnesses who provided a description of the suspects’ vehicle. The information was relayed to patrol units in the area.
At approximately 9:52 p.m., a deputy spotted a vehicle matching the description near Old Highway 61 and Casino Strip Drive. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle refused to stop and led deputies on a high-speed chase. The driver lost control of the vehicle and fled on foot.
The sheriff’s office deployed a K-9 unit, which apprehended Deonte Taylor, 20, of Tunica. Taylor was bitten by the dog and treated at an area hospital before being taken to the Tunica County Jail.
Taylor faces multiple charges, including failure to stop, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy, vehicle burglary, and felony fleeing. He also sustained a gunshot wound on March 8, 2026, and was treated at an area hospital. Taylor was previously out on bond for serious charges related to a triple homicide in November 2023, but his bond on those charges has expired, and a bond revocation was not possible.
