Suspect in stolen vehicle arrested after high-speed chase in Yazoo County

Kalveonte Moore is in custody following a police pursuit near Yazoo City, Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigator Antwan Jones observed Moore’s vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 49 as it entered Yazoo City. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but Moore refused to pull over, prompting a chase.

Moore, who is wanted in Hinds County on carjacking charges, was driving a stolen vehicle that has since been recovered, authorities said. The pursuit involved multiple agencies and concluded without injuries.

All officers involved are safe, and Moore is currently detained at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility, the sheriff’s office said.
