Strong Cold Front to Bring Gusty Storms and Cold Snap to Mississippi

A cold front is forecast to sweep through Mississippi, bringing a line of showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds, the National Weather Service in Jackson reported.

Damaging wind gusts are the primary concern, and tornadoes are also possible as the line moves through the region. Winds will be gusty both ahead of and behind the front, the NWS said.

After the front passes, temperatures are predicted to drop sharply, with a freeze likely across the entire area. The cold snap could damage unprotected vegetation that has already begun to grow, officials warned.

Residents are advised to stay updated on the latest forecasts over the next few days as conditions evolve.
