Storm Damage Survey Underway in Mississippi Counties
Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi, are surveying damage caused by storms that occurred during the night of Saturday, Feb. 14, and the morning of Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026.
Preliminary assessments identified four storm tracks in Lincoln and Lawrence counties. Additional surveys are planned for Lawrence, Jefferson Davis, and Covington counties on Monday, Feb. 16, the agency said.
The storms caused damage across the region, prompting officials to evaluate the severity and scope of the impact. The survey results will help determine whether federal assistance or other support is needed.
