Sheriff’s Office Chiefs Complete FBI-LEEDA Leadership Course

Chief Marena Jones and Chief Marcus Cohen of the Sheriff’s Office completed the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) Supervisor Leadership Institute last week in Southaven.

The four-and-a-half-day program is designed for law enforcement supervisors and mid-level managers. It aims to improve leadership skills through an interactive curriculum based on FBI-LEEDA’s “Cops Teaching Cops” model of professional development.

The course covered topics including supervisory leadership, credibility and authenticity, law enforcement liability, police discipline, DISC behavior and leadership, and leading multiple generations.

FBI-LEEDA officials say the training underscores the chiefs’ ongoing commitment to professional development, leadership excellence, and advancing law enforcement standards.
