Severe weather threat possible Sunday morning in southeast Mississippi

A cold front moving south of the region is responsible for wintry weather across parts of the area, according to weather officials.

On Sunday morning, there is a narrow risk of a strong to briefly severe storm in the Pinebelt of southeast Mississippi, the National Weather Service said.

Damaging wind gusts are possible, and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out, officials added. No other severe weather threats were specified at this time.

Residents in the area are advised to stay alert for updates and take precautions as needed.
