NWS Jackson Reports Total of 10 Tornadoes from February Storms
The National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi, has identified six additional tornado paths from storms that occurred late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, according to meteorologists. This increases the total number of tornadoes from the recent severe weather event to 10.
Of these, eight were classified as EF1 tornadoes, and two were EF0 tornadoes, the NWS reported. The surveys for damage within the Jackson service area are now complete, pending any late reports of damage.
The storms caused widespread destruction across the region, prompting the NWS to conduct thorough damage assessments to determine the storm’s severity and impact. No injuries or fatalities have been reported in connection with the tornadoes, authorities said.
