Mississippi wildlife agency receives second pig trap system to support hog management
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks announced it received a second Pig Brig Net trap system from Outdoor Neshoba. The new equipment will support ongoing wild hog trapping efforts at Nanih Waiya Wildlife Management Area.
Net trap systems are lightweight, passive traps that do not require cell service to operate. This makes them ideal for remote areas where cell coverage is limited, such as Nanih Waiya WMA.
According to MDWFP, the traps allow for trapping in areas where larger, heavier metal traps are difficult or impossible to transport. The department thanked Outdoor Neshoba for their ongoing contributions and dedication to wild hog management in Mississippi.
