Mississippi wildlife agency closes Tippah County Lake until further notice

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks announced that Tippah County Lake in Ripley is closed until further notice.

The closure follows damage caused by a recent ice storm, which has made the lake unsafe for boating and fishing, officials said.

MDWFP staff are assessing the extent of the damage and working to restore access. The public will be notified once the lake reopens, officials added.
