Mississippi turkey hunting season underway
The turkey hunting season is now open in Mississippi, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP). The agency wishes hunters good luck as they head into the woods.
Hunters are reminded to obtain a Wild Turkey Stamp or the Exempt Turkey Game Check privilege to report their harvests. The department encourages hunters to send in photos of their successful hunts, noting that they enjoy seeing the results.
Hunters are advised to ensure they are prepared for the season. More information about regulations and how to participate can be found on the MDWFP website.
