Mississippi offers free hunter education classes statewide

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks is offering free hunter education classes at 18 locations across the state throughout February, according to agency officials.

Some of the participating sites include Natchez State Park, Prentiss Fire Department, Mississippi State University Extension Office in Pontotoc County, Cossar State Park, and Choctaw Wildlife Management Area. The classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Individuals interested in registering can find more information and sign up at https://education.mdwfp.com/Web/Event/Classes, the agency said. The courses aim to promote safe and responsible hunting practices among new and experienced hunters alike.
