Mississippi Mayor’s Youth Council Participates in State Leadership Summit

Greenville’s Mayor’s Youth Council (MYC) participated in the Mississippi Municipal League (MML) Youth Leadership Summit at Jackson State University, according to a statement from the city.

The summit provided an opportunity for youth leaders to learn, lead, and collaborate on building future cities. Mayor Errick D. Simmons praised the students for their engagement and leadership development.

“Leadership starts now,” Simmons said. The event aimed to inspire young people to take active roles in their communities and prepare for future leadership positions.

The MYC’s participation underscores Greenville’s commitment to fostering youth involvement in local governance and civic initiatives, the city added.
