Mississippi hosts live Q&A on turkey hunting regulations

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is hosting a live Q&A on Facebook on March 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will cover regulations and requirements for the 2026 turkey hunting season.

Hunters are encouraged to submit questions in the comments section during the session. Topics will include wild turkey stamp requirements and recent updates to the Game Check system.

All hunters aged 16 and older must purchase a Mississippi Wild Turkey Stamp to hunt wild turkeys on private and public lands. Those exempt from purchasing the stamp, such as lifetime license holders, youth under 16, and residents 65 and older or with disabilities, must still obtain a free Exempt Turkey Game Check privilege to report harvests.

Game Check is now directly linked to the Wild Turkey Stamp or Exempt Turkey privilege, simplifying the reporting process. For more details, hunters are advised to visit the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks website.

The department encourages hunters and interested parties to join the live session on Facebook next Tuesday night for updates and to ask questions directly.
