Mississippi Emergency Management urges storm damage reports from residents

Mississippi Mayor Errick D. Simmons has urged residents, businesses, farmers, industries, and government agencies to report storm damage through an online self-reporting tool provided by the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA).

The MEMA Citizen Self-Reporting links are organized by county. Officials emphasize that the tool is not a substitute for emergency services. In case of immediate, life-threatening needs after a storm, residents should call 911.

Officials also clarified that submitting a damage report does not constitute an application for financial assistance. The reports serve as a data collection tool used by MEMA to assess the storm’s impact across the state.

Simmons and MEMA encourage all residents affected by the recent storm to utilize the online platform to ensure accurate damage assessments are recorded for response planning.
