Mississippi EMA Calls for Ice Storm Damage Reports

Mississippi’s Emergency Management Agency is requesting residents to report damage caused by the recent ice storm. Residents whose homes sustained damage from fallen limbs are advised to contact EMA Director Fred Randle for a damage assessment.

To report damage, residents can call or text Mr. Randle at 662-299-2600. When texting, they should include their name and property address. Mr. Randle is conducting damage assessments only. Residents are still required to self-report their damage on the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency’s website.

The agency emphasizes that the self-reporting tool is not an emergency service. If residents experience immediate, life-threatening issues after a storm, they should call 911. Additionally, submitting a damage report does not constitute an application for financial assistance. The reports are used for data collection purposes only, according to MEMA.
