Mississippi Delta Community College closes campuses through Thursday due to weather, outages

Mississippi Delta Community College has announced the closure of all its campus locations through Thursday, Jan. 29, citing inclement weather and widespread power outages.

The college said students will not transition to virtual learning during the closure. Residence halls and the cafeteria will remain open, according to a college statement.

Employees are instructed to report only if they are considered essential personnel. The college plans to resume classes and campus operations on Monday, Feb. 2.

Officials advised students and staff to stay safe and warm during the outage period.
