Mississippi Delta Community College closes campuses due to winter weather

Mississippi Delta Community College announced that all campus locations will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 26 and 27, due to expected winter weather, the college said in a news release.

During the closure, students will shift to virtual learning. They are advised to check Canvas on Monday for assignments and course instructions. Residence halls and the cafeteria will remain open, the college added.

College employees were told that only essential personnel should report to campus during the closure. The college urged staff and students to sign up for MDCCAlerts, its emergency notification system, to receive timely updates via email or text. To enroll, send a text message with MDCCALERTS to 79516, the release stated.
