Mississippi Delta Community College closes campuses amid winter storm

Mississippi Delta Community College announced Monday that all campus locations will be closed from Jan. 26 through Jan. 28 because of winter weather and widespread power outages, according to a news release.

The college clarified that, due to the loss of power, classes will not shift to virtual learning during the closure. Residence halls and the cafeteria will remain open, the release said.

Employees are instructed to report only if they are deemed essential personnel. A decision regarding campus operations on Thursday will be made and announced by noon on Wednesday.

The college urged students and staff to stay safe and keep warm during the inclement weather.
