MDWFP’s Law Enforcement Chief Recognized as Patriotic Employer

Col. Jerry Carter, chief of law enforcement for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, has been named a Patriotic Employer by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense office.

The ESGR Patriotic Employer Award recognizes supervisors who demonstrate strong support for Guard and Reserve members through flexible policies and open communication, according to the department.

Carter was nominated by Sergeant Major Larry Primeaux of the Army National Guard, who also serves with MDWFP’s Law Enforcement K-9 Unit. The award honors Carter’s support of Primeaux, who serves in the U.S. Armed Forces Guard and Reserve.
