Mayor Encourages Public to Vote for Delta Hot Tamale Festival

Mayor Errick D. Simmons of Greenville, Mississippi, is encouraging residents and supporters to vote for the Delta Hot Tamale Festival in an online poll before voting ends, according to a social media post. The mayor urged people to vote now and to share a screenshot of their vote.

The post also offers a prize for the first person to share a picture in the comments showing the city in second place. The first to do so will receive an armband for this year’s festival. The voting link is provided by USA Today’s 10Best website.

Officials from the City of Greenville, the Mississippi Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Washington County Economic Alliance, and local law enforcement shared the post. The festival aims to boost tourism and community engagement in the region, organizers said.

Voting is now open, and residents are encouraged to support the festival through online participation before the poll closes, according to the post from Mayor Simmons.
