Leadership Washington County Tours Local Education Institutions to Highlight Workforce Development
Leadership Washington County took a comprehensive look at education across the region, visiting multiple schools and higher education centers. The group toured Washington School, Riverside Elementary and Riverside High School, Leland Early Learning Center, Greenville Technical Center, and the MDCC Greenville Higher Education Center, according to organizers.
The visit provided firsthand insight into the work being done to prepare students for success. A highlight was a lunch with the Rotary Club of Greenville, where Dr. Daniel Ennis, president of Delta State University, shared his perspectives on higher education’s role in strengthening the local workforce and communities, organizers said.
The experience underscored the importance of educational partnerships in shaping the county’s future. Organizers expressed gratitude to the schools, educators, administrators, and community leaders who hosted the group and contributed to the day’s learning experience.
Participants included representatives from Delta State University, MDCC Greenville Campus, Western Line School District, Greenville Public School District, and the Rotary Club of Greenville. The event aimed to foster collaboration and highlight pathways from classrooms to careers in Washington County.
