Greenville police seek man in nightclub parking lot assault

Greenville police are seeking the public’s help in locating Sidney Byars, who is wanted on an arrest warrant related to an assault outside a nightclub last weekend.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning, March 8, in the parking lot of the Rack & Cue in the 1300 block of Highway 82 East. Officers responded to the scene after the victim reported being attacked by an unknown male after leaving the club, according to the Greenville Police Department.

The victim was taken to Delta Health for short-term treatment and was later airlifted to another facility for further care, police said. Investigators identified Byars as a suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest.

Byars is 42 years old, stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 200 pounds and has brown eyes. Authorities ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at (662) 378-8477 or use the online P3 app. A reward is being offered for tips leading to his arrest, police added.
