Greenville police and sheriff’s deputies arrest two in early-morning theft
Greenville police and Washington County sheriff’s deputies have arrested two men following an early-morning theft. Officers responded to a report of grand larceny around 2:30 a.m. Friday near the 1200 block of Kirk Circle, according to authorities.
Surveillance footage showed a pickup truck leaving the scene pulling a stolen white enclosed trailer containing an ATV. The investigation led officers outside Greenville city limits to arrest Douglas McGehee, 44, of Greenville, and Marcus Boyles, 42, of Leland.
Both suspects are currently held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility. They face charges including possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and malicious mischief, the sheriff’s department said. Authorities indicated additional charges may be filed by Greenville police.
Officials emphasized that suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
