Greenville officials hold emergency briefing on winter storm response
Greenville officials held a winter weather ice storm emergency management briefing Wednesday afternoon. Mayor Errick D. Simmons called the meeting to coordinate preparedness and response efforts as dangerous winter conditions persist.
The briefing took place at 1:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers and was livestreamed. City leadership, public safety officials, emergency management personnel, utility providers, and community partners reviewed current conditions and discussed strategies to protect residents, businesses, and critical infrastructure.
Mayor Simmons emphasized the importance of safety, stating, “The safety of our residents is our top priority. We are taking proactive, coordinated steps to protect lives, property, and essential services. I strongly encourage everyone to remain vigilant and prepared.”
Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates, limit travel, and take necessary safety precautions during the winter storm, which continues to pose risks across the region.
