Greenville Mayor Celebrates Read Across America Week with Youth
Greenville Mayor Errick D. Simmons spent part of Read Across America Week at the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County in Greenville, Mississippi.
During the visit, Mayor Simmons shared stories and encouraged a love of reading among young students, emphasizing the role of books in inspiring imagination and opening opportunities, according to a city statement.
“Literacy is the foundation of a stronger future — because when our children read, they learn; and when they learn, they lead,” Mayor Simmons said. The city of Greenville supports initiatives aimed at education, youth development, and lifelong learning throughout the community.
