Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors from Greenville’s public, private, or parochial schools. The scholarship aims to address college affordability and promote a college-going culture in the city, according to a statement from Mayor Simmons.

The deadline to apply is April 10, 2026. Interested students can submit their applications online at the city’s website. Mayor Simmons emphasized the importance of investing in youth, saying the scholarship reflects Greenville’s commitment to ensuring all students have the opportunity to pursue higher education.
