Greenville man beaten in nightclub parking lot, police seek suspect

Greenville police responded to the 1300 block of Highway 82 East, near Rack & Cue, early Sunday morning after reports of an assault. Officers spoke with a sheriff’s deputy who said the male victim was escorted out of the nightclub but was assaulted shortly afterward in the parking lot, according to police.

The victim told authorities he was attacked by an unidentified male after leaving the club. He was taken to Delta Health for short-term treatment and was later airlifted to another facility for further care, police said.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Black male wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and a dark-colored sweater or hoodie. Chief Marcus Turner announced that a social media video of the incident is circulating and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Turner said law enforcement is seeking assistance in identifying the suspect and encouraged tips to be submitted anonymously via the Crime Stoppers Hotline at (662) 378-8477 or through the online P3 app.
