Greenville Launches New Black Main Street Exhibit with Youth Involvement

The Washington County Economic Alliance announced the upcoming installation of the Provision Land Exhibit on Historic Nelson Street, also known as the Black Main Street of Greenville.

The alliance partnered with the Mississippi Delta Nature and Learning Center to develop the exhibit, which aims to showcase the community’s history and ongoing revitalization efforts.

Alliance representatives expressed pride in youth involvement, emphasizing their role in shaping the future of Greenville. They credited local businesses, such as Fountain’s Green Grow-Cery, for their ongoing support and community engagement.

Multiple organizations, including the Mississippi Delta News, the Delta Regional Authority, and the Mississippi Arts Commission, have supported the project. The initiative is part of broader efforts to revitalize and celebrate Greenville’s historic district.
