Greenville Launches Black History Month Facts Series
The city of Greenville has launched a Black History Month Facts Series to celebrate the contributions of Black leaders, trailblazers, and historic moments. The series aims to highlight how these figures and events have shaped the nation, the world, and the local community.
Mayor Errick D. Simmons issued a statement emphasizing the significance of Black history, saying, “Black History is American History. Black History is World History. It belongs to all of us, and everyone should join in the celebration.”
Throughout the month, Greenville residents are encouraged to learn about and honor Black excellence, resilience, and achievement. The city’s initiative promotes community pride and awareness during Black History Month.
The campaign includes social media hashtags such as #BlackHistoryMonth, #GreenvilleMS, #CelebrateAndLearn, #OurHistory, and #CommunityPride, inviting residents to participate and share in the celebration.
